Dan Tanson & John Wolter
It’s a busy autumn at neimënster, with John Wolter and Dan Tanson taking up their artist residencies. Together, musician and director, they will be working on a children’s concert featuring ‘collectors of old clutter’.
In a groovy jazz-soul-funk musical aesthetic, spiced with modern beats, all immersed in a festive fusion of world music, contemporary pop-jazz and Latin/African percussion, this creation will stage the adventures of colorful characters, creators of a better world through their unusual journeys using classical musical instruments as well as those recovered, transformed or invented from found objects.
To highlight a profession that is often invisible and under-appreciated, and to take a poetic look at these adventurers of the hygiene service, who, despite their hard work, never lose courage and good humor – these are the objectives that John Wolter and Dan Tanson have set themselves for this first research residency, which will continue in schools at the beginning of 2024, with the support of the Fondation Sommer.
