Institut Pierre Werner
The Institut Pierre Werner (IPW) is a European cultural center. It was created in 2003, in Luxembourg, on the initiative of the German, French and Luxembourg governments.
The IPW organizes readings, debates, conferences, exhibitions and film and theater evenings on European and cultural themes. It promotes the meeting of German, French, Luxembourgish and European personalities in the fields of literature, art, politics and science. These events are very diverse and encourage exchange and multilateral reflection on Europe.
The IPW works in the spirit of Colpach, inherited from the Luxembourg industrialist Emile Mayrisch and his philanthropist wife Aline Mayrisch de Saint-Hubert. This spirit of reconciliation, exchange and Franco-German dialogue through the Grand Duchy still plays a significant role in Luxembourg’s identity.
