The center has developed around four pillars of activities allowing it to accomplish its main missions as established by the 2001 law.

A touristic dimension which is based on the heritage aspect of the site and its anchorage in the history of the City of Luxembourg.
Article 2
(1) The mission of the establishment is:
to set up and develop within the former Neumünster Abbey, rehabilitated and enhanced, a Cultural Centre with a cultural and artistic project on the theme of Luxembourg’s cultural identity and its encounter with other cultures;

to ensure an activity of artistic, cultural and intellectual production and to promote a wide diffusion;

to develop an important capacity of reception and services for a large public.

to set up and develop a Cultural Centre within the former Neumünster Abbey, restored and developed, which will be the basis for a cultural and artistic project on the theme of Luxembourg’s cultural identity and its encounter with other cultures;

(2) To this end, it is called upon to:
welcome Luxembourg and foreign artists and creators in appropriate settings, offering them the possibility to be accommodated and to work there;

to make available to institutes and associations with a cultural and socio-cultural vocation the premises to enable them to develop their activities, particularly of an inter-regional and international nature;

to organize, co-produce and promote cultural, socio-cultural, or any other events and performances;

collaborate in European and international cultural networks;
4
to manage and utilize, within the framework of the missions assigned to it, the buildings placed at its disposal by the State, namely the former Neumünster Abbey and its annexes, registered in the cadaster of the City of Luxembourg according to the list attached to this law, of which it forms an integral part.
