Ladies on Records - Female Singers from around the world
Sound Lecture: Female Singers from All Around the World
They are beloved, admired, and rewarded. They look at us from the record sleeves, bravely showing their femininity and beauty. Pop music in all the local styles highlights them and utilises them at the same time. But female singers are not only the icons of style; they are also the messengers of womanhood stories. We can rarely hear their messages. Their statements are very often unspoken; their expectations are often unfulfilled. Ladies on Records explores the stories of women through the music they created. Let's dive in the music from all the corners of the world - from close and distant cultural realities, and let's discover some of the stories and be open to hearing the messages. Kornelia Binicewicz AKA Ladies on Records takes us on a cultural and musical trip into the female singers' world by selecting dusty records from the 60s, 70s, and 80s and telling passionate stories of their lives and musical careers.
