Bruno Angelini Trio

Transatlantic Roots

Event details

With Transatlantic Roots, the pianist Bruno Angelini offers a panoramic journey through the American counterculture, with his carefully crafted melodies, his great sense of space and his sharp sound research. The music is very cinematographic and the pieces follow one another like paintings whose internal dramaturgy can be followed.
Here he summons great American figures from the artistic and societal fields who cast a subversive, analytical eye on America.
The result is an inventive, captivating writing style, at times meditative and lively, alternating introspective climates with burning atmospheres, at times chamber-like, at times electric.
All this is served by magnificent musicians who fit admirably into the project: trumpeter Fabrice Martinez, whose accuracy and involvement are limitless, associated with Eric Echampard's drums, all in restrained power.

« Avec un sens équilibré du piano qui reste l’instrument fondamental, Angelini peint une fresque sensible et exutoire. »
