6th edition of the RESET jazz festival
This has become a must for music lovers at the beginning of the year. For this edition, neimënster has renewed its invitation to the composer and vibraphonist Pascal Schumacher to take on the role of musical curator and to imagine a program that is always sharp and ambitious. To carry out the project, rising stars and established jazz musicians from Belgium, France, Germany, Italy, Turkey, Portugal and Russia, accompanied by the Luxembourg guitarist Greg Lamy, were invited to share a residency of several days on the neimënster site. Exchanges, personal connections and sound experiments, they will perform during an itinerant journey, which will allow them to weave exceptional artistic encounters with the public. The results of their work sessions will be presented during three exceptional evenings, including a concert at the end of the residency that will bring together all the participants on the big stage of neimënster.
Since its inception, the RESET festival has allowed artists to make connections that go beyond neimënster. Recently, singer Kristin Berardi and bassist Franzi Aller (RESET 2021) were reunited for a special Pause concert. Recently, guitarist Greg Lamy (RESET 2023) and saxophonist Tineke Postma (RESET 2018) performed together at the Blues ‘n Jazz Rallye (2022) and will meet again for a Pause concert in 2023. Not forgetting harpist Julie Campiche and composer Sven Helbig (RESET 2019) who shared the bill at the DAVE festival in Germany, or Veronika Harcsa and Jan Brauer – present at neimënster in 2018 – who return regularly to Luxembourg. The Hungarian singer has joined the Next.Ape project with Luxembourg keyboardist Jérôme Klein, while the German DJ mixes at trendy parties. The class of 2020 took part in the Resonanzen festival in Saarbrücken, the first satellite event in the Greater Region to emerge from the RESET residency. The British trumpet player Yazz Ahmed has become a regular on the Luxembourg stages. Finally, Airelle Besson (RESET 2018) ended her European tour with a concert of the Pause series in December 2022.
