Olivia Trummer Trio - Change of seasons
Time for new beginnings. Award-winning pianist Olivia Trummer presents a series of brand new songs. The Olivia Trummer Trio explores boundaries and feels its way into pop through the means and spirit of jazz. Catchy melodies meet spontaneous inventiveness, musical virtuosity meets thoroughly enjoyable grooves. Olivia’s new songs tell of unexpected forks in the road of life, of love that is able to dissolve space and time. It is music that invites you to see the world with new, opened eyes.
The pianist, singer and composer Olivia Trummer is considered one of the most interesting German jazz musicians of her generation. With keys and voice she forms new connections between the genres. Her formative years spent in the jazz metropolis of New York City and her close connection to European classical music have always served as ongoing sources of inspiration. She is active on stages worldwide as a bandleader of her own projects and has been a permanent member of Kurt Rosenwinkel’s “Caipi” band since 2016.
Makar Novikov is a famous jazz double bassists from Moskow. An experienced accompanist and virtuoso soloist, he has played with many well known jazz musicians such as Jimmy Cobb, Clark Terry, Jimmy Heath and James Spaulding and appears regularly with Alex Sipiagin and the Isfar Sarabski Trio. Stranded in Italy on tour during the outbreak of the war in Ukraine with only one suitcase, he now lives in northern Italy and can be counted as a fortunate new addition to the European jazz scene.
American drummer and multi-instrumentalist Earl Harvin from Texas is known for his collaborations and tours with Seal, Jeff Beck, Damien Rice and Air, and is cited as a formative influence by Ari Hoenig, among others. His playing is as versatile as the spectrum of his collaborations, characterized by a special intensity – even in the quietest pianissimo – and a keen sense for grooves that perfectly “dress” a song.
